This week has been all about healing, new beginnings and promises soon to come. As many of you know this year has been very challenging for me, especially in matters of the heart in regards to my career. I allowed myself to be drawn into what someone else needed of me and for that I have heavily paid the price, through emotional trauma and even physical abuse when one of my students punched me in the kidney. The good news is that in only 11 short weeks, it will all be a necessary lesson and less than fond memory. This year was a lesson in standing up for me, advocating for my needs and setting appropriate personal boundaries. I realized who I am, what I want more than anything, and more importantly that I am worth any risk involved to get it. I am now following my bliss and letting my heart take wings. It seems that just when we are ready to give up, that's when the universe provides perfect, lovely support. I feel renewed strength, vigor, vitality, and fierce determination. I have been looking for a little while for some powerful auric healing stones. Julie Clawson, an amazing writer and a good friend of mine mentioned to me on Friday that my favorite little rock store here in Austin, Nature's Treasures, was having a truck show. I cannot tell you the glee that this brought to my heart. During our rock finding adventure I found exactly what my aura needed, Aqua Aura to be exact. This stone is amazing, though it is not exactly a natural forming stone, as it is actually quartz that is infused with gold, this combination creates an amazing magical healer. It begins by healing the auric field. It seeks for any little hole and mends them all beautifully. Then it slowly activates, one lovely chakra at a time, until you are restored to your sparkling self. My aura feels clean and shiny. I am now ready to take on the world or at least my classroom for the next 11 weeks. With the magical glow of this blue rainbow, I was deeply inspired to create an inner soul child necklace. I am drawn to tell you, that spring is now upon us and it is time to nurture your sleeping inner child. It is time to frolic and play. If you listen to her little voice, softly whispering, she will remind you that now is the time. How will you play? I guess you could say I had a small problem. The kind of problem that most ordinary people don't worry about but for those of us that do think about and believe in the power of the healing earth ,I have found a beautiful solution. I knew it had be light weight, easy to carry, small enough to take anywhere and of course my aesthetic. It needed be eye catching, beautiful, and unusual in some way. It also needed transport its owner to a place of magic, to gently awaken them. We talk about awakening, but what does that really mean? To me the daily grind is truly that, a cheese grater to your soul. We slowly shave off pieces of ourselves only to become weaker, and less of what we were intended to be. We dim our light to become some else’s idea of we. How many people enjoy this monotony? How many feel like their purpose is being served, or that they are truly part of a greater good through their "work" experience? I for one have decided it's time to do what I came here to do, what we all came here to do, and heal this world. I want to use my knowledge of crystals, chakras, numerous spiritual systems and my specific artistic talents to make change happen. We need to restore our healers. I am magical crafter and I choose to heal each soul one talisman at a time. This brings me back to my earlier stated problem. I love waking up to freshly charged jewelry. It feels so good to slip into a necklace with cleared energy, like rolling in freshly washed clean cotton sheets, yeah like that. To do this, I personally like to leave my rings on a stone at night, but often find that they don't stay put. The number of times that I have had to search for my missing jewelry is more times than I care to explain. I became inspired to solve this problem for myself and others. I created these little crystal chargers. You place favorite necklace over the stone, or use the points of the cluster to place your favorite ring and infuse it while you sleep. No more looking for lost things, only waking up to newly charged, ready to wear, perfectly balanced jewelry. There are few ways to keep these beauties charged. Here are some of my favorites. Give your crystals a white sage bath, or let them bask in the energy of the full moon light. Water may damage the clay surface or cause it to crack so please no heavy washing or salt baths. If you also have this small problem or if you love these little treasures and feel drawn to them. They are available in my Etsy store. Simply click on the image in my creations line, and choose what you like. If you want a specific color, please contact me in my manifest page and we will design the perfect one for you. Love and light- Siren Have you ever made something so wonderful that it left you glowing for hours? Then only a few weeks come and go, and you start to notice a little flaw here or mistake there. The cracks in the perfect beauty that you thought you had created steadily growing deeper? You are taken to the place where you would rather destroy it then look at that broken face any longer? Taking a deep breath and you realize it is simply time for rebirth? As you gently release your old perspective on perfection another idea sprouts and again you are brewing like a beautiful storm.
I found myself in just this place earlier this week. I was looking at one of my sculptures and found it lacking, my beautiful mermaid with a less than beautiful face (image 1). I decided it was literally time for a face lift. I began to sculpt a new face and as if by magic her little personality began to show. She seemed so calm and peaceful like the warm oceans that she made her home in. I decided to erase her cold apathetic stare and instead let her close her eyes and ponder the depths of the human soul. During this process and shift I realized one very important thing, she was me and I was she. This little mermaid was mirroring all of the things that I wanted to be and feel in life. She emanated peace, ease, warmth, and memories of basking in the gorgeous golden sunlight.Through my journey into this sculpture as she found herself, I too found another piece of me. I wonder have any of you creative souls had a similar experience? Bliss and Love- Amanda People literally do everything they can to make someone else's dreams a reality. It seems to me that the most successful dreamers, simply "live" their dream. Allow me to elaborate. A good writer, touches pen to paper and with courage set's their ideas free, Ideas that move like tiny wisps set out to capture attention or spread their seeds of thought. These people don't live someone else's version of what a writer should be, they simply ride the wave of inspiration and emotion until the birth of their idea reaches its intended heart. Artists follow a similar process. They open their own souls and either paint them onto a canvas, or sculpt their malleable intentions for all of the world to see. Society tells us that to "become anything requires thousands of dollars in debt. They do this to simply become someone else's idea of "qualified". Who decides what qualifies one as an artist, a poet, a musician or any other soul form? Isn't this simply about the act of creation, the act of breaking ourselves and others open? Or as some say, waking up? Personally, my art for me is a beautiful release. My ideas are a deep meditation with each stone and purpose set with a conscious universal intention. I wonder. . . Do we have to live the understood "American Dream," Or is it time to write our own destinies?
